Computer Class: Computer Basics Bootcamp Part 1

Computer Basics Boot Camp, Part 1 is a four-week course that will take beginners from the first steps of using a computer to successfully searching for information and communicating online.

 

Tuesday, April 4

Explore the parts of a computer. Learn how to turn on a computer and how to use a keyboard and a mouse. Practice typing and maneuvering the mouse.  Learn how to use Windows. Find out about icons, the desktop, and the start menu. Practice maximizing and minimizing windows, and learn how to get onto the Internet.

 

Tuesday, April 11

Start using the Internet. Learn about browsers, links, and bookmarks. Practice searching for information using Google.

 

Tuesday, April 18

Start using email. Sign up for an email account, and practice sending and reading email. Learn how to Cc and Bcc, and how to format text.

 

Tuesday, April 25

Review how to use a computer, the Internet, and email and catch up on any details you may have missed. Explore an advanced Internet or email topic to demonstrate your skills.
